The Phytotherapists Association of Nigeria (PAN) was founded in February 2017 by Alhaji Fatai Yusuf (Oko Oloyun) and other notable herbal practitioners across the country.
Alhaji Fatai Yusuf served as the first National President of the Association, while Alhaji Muritala Oyelami (Gaozu) became the first Governor of the Lagos Chapter, deputized by Alhaji Mikail Abiola Azeez (Faralokun).
Following the passing of the first administration, the Lagos Chapter was managed by a Caretaker Committee led by Alhaji Isiaka Babatunde Orija for six months.
On August 18th, 2023, Alhaji Mikail Abiola Azeez was formally inaugurated as the Governor of the Lagos Chapter of the Phytotherapists Association of Nigeria (PAN).

Achievements Under the Administration of Alhaji Mikail Abiola Azeez
Professional Development & Training
The administration placed a priority on education, mandating and facilitating formal certification for all members through the Lagos State Traditional Medicine Board (four batches completed). We successfully organized a major one-day seminar with NAFDAC and the State Traditional Medicine Board, alongside four batches of Quantum Machine Training for over 100 participants.
Institutional & Corporate Growth
Key to stability, the Chapter achieved full corporate status with the acquisition of the Certificate of Incorporation (CAC). Financial transparency was cemented with the opening of a dedicated bank account. Furthermore, the association achieved significant expansion across Lagos State with the formation and inauguration of new local government branches.
Digital & Professional Advancement
We successfully defined the Chapter's image by distributing customized professional lab coats to all members. The administration also launched the official Lagos Chapter website, providing a modern digital platform for communication, member services, and public access.
